Watercolor Inspired by famous artist Vincent van Gogh's "Starry, Starry Night"
Materials: Use a No. 2 pencil, watercolors, and 9 X 12 white art paper or watercolor paper, your choice of construction paper. Two lesson suggestions:
1. Use the artwork of Vincent van Gogh's "Starry, Starry Night" as an inspiration to create an El Paso "Starry, Starry Night." First, lightly draw a desert landscape then paint with watercolor. When dry, mount work on a complimentary surface. (ie. Blue, green or black construction paper.)
2. For practice, repeat Van Gogh's image, as on the left,
to understand and feel the movement that the artist felt.
